About Libertyland Axolotl Rescue

Libertyland Axolotl Rescue is a volunteer‑run, foster‑based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in July 2024 and dedicated to the ethical rescue, rehabilitation, and adoption of captive‑bred Ambystoma mexicanum (Mexican axolotls). Based in New England, we also support axolotl owners across the United States through shipped surrenders, legal‑state adoptions, and free evidence‑based education. We do not operate a public facility; all axolotls in our care are placed in dedicated foster homes. Libertyland is women‑founded and veteran‑supported, with a diverse leadership team that includes nonbinary representation and a commitment to inclusivity, transparency, welfare‑first practices, and accessible community support.
