Give a Little, Save a Lotl: Why Giving Tuesday Matters for Libertyland

Giving Tuesday is a global day of generosity — a chance for people everywhere to come together and support the causes they care about most. For Libertyland Axolotl Rescue, it’s more than just a fundraising day. It’s the difference between saying “yes” to the next surrendered axolotl… or having to turn them away.

This year alone, we’ve cared for dozens of surrendered axolotls, provided medical treatment, and supported adopters with the supplies and guidance they need. Every tank cleaned, every animal fed, every adoption supported — it all happens because of you. This Giving Tuesday, we’re asking for your help to raise $1,500 to keep our rescue running strong as we head into 2026.

Your donation on Giving Tuesday helps us:

  • Provide food and medical care for surrendered axolotls

  • Maintain safe, clean habitats

  • Support adopters and fosters with supplies and education

  • Continue our mission of evidence‑based axolotl welfare and outreach

We’ve built Libertyland to be more than a rescue — it’s a community of care, science, and compassion. But we can’t do it alone. That’s why this Giving Tuesday, we're giving back to all of our supporters. Check it out:

  • If you donate $15, you'll get to name one of our incoming surrendered axolotls!

  • If you donate $35, you'll get to name an axolotl AND receive an authentic Mexican 50 peso note, which features an axolotl and its native habitat, the lakes and waterways around Mexico City (first 10 $35 donors only to receive a 50 peso note)

  • If you donate $50 or more, you'll get to name an axolotl AND we'll send you an axolotl plushie as a special thank-you gift! (while supplies last; please allow time for shipping and handling!)

Even small gifts make a big impact. As we like to say: Give a Little, Save a Lotl.
